Sugarhill presents a brief history of the hip-hop movement. Beginning with childhood memories from the late 70's and continuing to present day, the film adds a personalized chapter of meaning to this evolving genre. Text, web video, glitch and data moshing provide a visual reinterpretation of acoustic works. Sugarhill is both a tribute and critique of an art form and an industry.
